Kanye West's "Rosewood" Movement

Now this....is interesting.  A few weeks ago, Kanye West announced (via Twitter) his new fashion movement called "Rosewood".  He explained that the movement insists of having a higher level of class and dress within society.  Not necessarily a trend, but more of a mindset.   He has also called for all the members of his G.O.O.D. music label to join in his Rosewood movement.

To celebrate this new movement, a few weeks ago, Kanye West hosted a secret show in NYC with a very "select" invitation.

So I'm sure your asking yourself, "what's so bad about this?"  We'll for those that don't know the origins of the word "Rosewood", allow me to inform you.

Rosewood was a film (starring Don Cheadle and Ving Rhames) based on the infamous Florida town of Rosewood, owned by a very prestigious black community, that was burned down by klan members in 1923.  The community was one of the first to become completely black-owned, a town filled with lawyers, politicians, and sharecroppers.  These African Americans showed much class and edicite like that of Kanye West's movement.   There wealth, however, was not the source of their prestige.  The basis of their high class society was derived from something that each of them had in common,....they were all Freemasons.

Kanye West is somewhat a smart man, so I'm sure he knows the symbolism that is involved with the background of this town.  With that said, if his Rosewood movement is about the same style and class manifested from the town of Rosewood, it would be safe to say that the sources are also the same.
