I've touched on this briefly in my Rappers Of Repentance post, but after watching this video, I felt like Mr. Banner deserves to have his new movement updated. When I first heard of his new album with 9th Wonder, Death Of A Pop Star, I thought the title was self explanatory. Yet, it was not until I started hearing leaked tracks from the project to truly understand what Banner's angle was. With his new video for the lead single off the album entitled "Slow Down", it seems as if he is trying to expose the evils of the industry a step at a time. Even though the song itself is about women bettering themselves by not being labeled as a "ho", the video shows heavy occult subliminals. I doubt anyone would put critical effort into "youtube analyzing" this video, so I am going to explain some of the abstract ideas that go on throughout certain scenes (to my best ability).
Seems as if a satellite is watching his movements and begins to distort when he touches his head, which may hint to some sort of tracking brain chip - 1:12 mark
Stops to visit his grandmother and picks up a pair of her shades. Generally a grandmother for black men is a source of faith. So him taking her shades could mean that he wants to see life from a Godly view, opening his eyes to the evils of the world - 1:38 mark
Once he puts on the shades, he looks at a family walking down the street, revealing that they are all possessed by demons. All the family members, including the little girl are, wearing headphones which means that the music are the source of their possession - 1:46 mark
He then gets back into the car with 9th Wonder, and looks at a drug dealer collecting money from two kids. The money that the other kids are giving the dealer reads "this is your God", an obvious point of materialism as a source of possession as well - 2:03 mark
The dealer appears to be wearing a pigs mask. The pigs mask could have many interpretations. But since the pigs mask was made popular by the Saw movie series, it's safe to assume that the pigs mask is a sign of tricking, kidnapping, or "hoodwinking" someone - 2:08 mark
Once he leaves the car, he runs down the street and bumps into a man who spills his coffee. The coffee cups logo, that is obviously mean't to look like the starbucks trademark, is the same logo of the secret society Skull & Bones - 2:34 mark
When he runs past the Salvation Army building, the statue also is wearing a pigs mask. Again symbolizing some sort of trickery, in this case, Banner is exposing some sort of corruption within donation funds - 2:47 mark
At this point, Banner appears to be chasing a young lady he is trying to save. The girl, however, is kidnapped by two men in black suits that look suspiciously like Mr. Anderson from The Matrix series. From this we can assume that David Banner is looking in and out of the Matrix through the use of his spiritual shades - 2:55 mark
David Banner is then seen getting intoxicated and passing out in the club. He awakens to see everyone in the club listening to music playing and being able to see the demonic presence within them as well - 3:37 mark
Banner then wakes up in his studio and puts back on his shades to see Matrix looking man. The video ends with Banner fighting the Matrix (which we here at Justify Theory completely co-sign!) - 4:42 mark
To make me like this video even more, it was shot in my hometown area of Norfolk, VA. Not sure if he was aware of this fact, but there are many masonic lodges in the Norfolk area. I'm sure he passed a few in shooting this video. Either way, Justify Theory will now make an effort of updating you all with information regarding this intriguing project from David and 9th Wonder.
Open Your Mind,
Justify
